EXPERIENCE
David advises clients ranging from individual innovators and emerging companies to Fortune 500 business on protecting, enforcing, licensing, and monetizing intellectual property, as well as managing litigation and business risks. Dave has successfully represented clients through all stages of complex intellectual property, antitrust, and commercial litigation, securing more than $800 million in value for clients through jury awards, judgments, and settlements. In addition to his litigation practice, he counsels clients on intellectual property strategy, licensing, freedom-to-operate analyses, risk management, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, employment matters, contracts, and bankruptcy-related issues. He works closely with clients to develop litigation and intellectual property strategies that support their business objectives. Before entering private practice, Dave served in the United States Air Force.
His experience spans a wide range of industries, including automotive, banking, medical devices, office equipment, power generation, telecommunications, transportation, and semiconductors. His work has involved a broad spectrum of technologies, including wireless communications, software, databases, digital imaging, embedded systems, encryption, gaming, medical imaging, medical implants, optics, semiconductor manufacturing, and standard-essential patents.
