Experienced IP Trial Lawyer David Higer Joins Cole Schotz

Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce the arrival of David W. Higer as a member in the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Departments.

Mr. Higer is an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in intellectual property and commercial litigation matters over more than two decades. He has handled matters of patent, trade secret, copyright, antitrust and commercial disputes, while also advising clients on intellectual property protection and monetization, licensing, risk mitigation, corporate governance, M&A, and other strategic business matters.

Mr. Higer has represented clients ranging from individual inventors and creators to businesses from startups to Fortune 500 companies. His practice spans numerous industries, including banking, medical technology, power generation, telecommunications, transportation and semiconductor manufacturing. Mr. Higer is recognized for providing strategic and practical legal advice and helping clients navigate complex legal and technical issues.

Mr. Higer earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. He previously served as a certified mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution. In addition to his legal work, Mr. Higer is an incorporator, founding member, founding officer and former president of the PTAB Bar Association. He is a co-author of the leading treatise on post-grant patent proceedings. He has also been recognized by IAM Strategy 300 among the world’s leading IP strategists.
