Cole Schotz has welcomed veteran intellectual property attorney David W. Higer as a member in its Dallas office. Higer, who brings more than two decades of experience, joins the firm’s Litigation and Intellectual Property teams.

Higer told Law360 Pulse that he was drawn to Cole Schotz by the firm’s strength in intellectual property and the quality of its attorneys.

“It’s a great, well-run firm,” Higer said. “Leadership is committed to the IP practice and the IP litigation team is a great group of experienced trial lawyers. It’s a great recipe for continuing to build an even more successful practice.”

Discussing some of the challenges facing his IP clients, Higer pointed to limitations on injunctive relief, uncertainty surrounding patentable subject matter and recent changes at the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
