Eric is routinely called upon to handle high-stakes and “bet-the-firm” litigation involving complex and important legal matters. With a reputation for balancing thoroughness, efficiency, and innovation, Eric is consistently praised by his clients for his communicative nature and his ability to outwit his adversaries and stay calm under pressure.
EXPERIENCE
Representing corporations and individuals alike, Eric focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation matters in state and federal courts throughout the country. Eric regularly represents clients in matters involving contract claims, shareholder oppression claims, construction project disputes, employment disputes, business fraud, defamation, landlord/tenant disputes, creditors rights, attorney ethics, and fraudulent transfer and asset recoveries. Eric routinely achieves favorable results for clients, from prevailing at trials to successfully advocating for the imposition of sanctions due to frivolous litigation. With a significant appellate practice, Eric has successfully argued before, and obtained favorable rulings from, the Appellate Divisions in New Jersey and New York as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Eric has also developed a niche practice defending medical professionals facing complaints or disciplinary actions by state licensing authorities, including the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.
Representative Matters
With nearly 15 years of experience, Eric has successfully represented clients in a number of matters, including:
- Represented Onyx Equities—a leading real estate investment and property services firm—in defense of claims brought by a tenant at a commercial property in New Jersey. Eric served as co-lead counsel during a multi-day bench trial in the Superior Court of Bergen County, which resulted in the dismissal of plaintiffs’ claims and judgment in Onyx’s favor. Eric then defeated the plaintiff’s appeal before the New Jersey Appellate Division and successfully prosecuted Onyx’s cross-appeal concerning its entitlement to back rent. See KVPR, LLC v. 30-38 Oak Street, LLC, No. A-1213-22, 2025 WL 2016660, at *1 (N.J. App. Div. July 18, 2025).
- Represented a successful, prominent local businessman in a defamation action against the City of Newark. After defeating multiple motions to dismiss and a motion for summary judgment, Eric served as lead counsel during a jury trial in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County. The matter settled immediately after Eric completed his opening statement and direct examination of the plaintiff.
- Represented NJRetina—one of the East Coast’s largest vertically-integrated independent ophthalmology administrative services organizations—in defense of tortious interference and related claims. Eric served as lead counsel in obtaining summary judgment, dismissal of plaintiffs’ claims, and an award of sanctions. Eric then successfully opposed the plaintiffs’ appeal, with the New Jersey Appellate Division affirming the trial court’s decision dismissing plaintiffs’ claims and ordering a limited remand for further fact finding on the amount of sanctions to be awarded. See Innovation Optics, Inc. v. Corey M. Notis, M.D., P.A., No. A-1468-23, 2025 WL 680080, at *1 (N.J. App. Div. Mar. 4, 2025).
- Represented EN-TECH Corp., one of the country’s leading providers of sewer rehabilitation and concrete restoration services, in pursuing contract and related claims against a general contractor. Eric served as lead counsel during a multi-day bench trial in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County. EN-TECH fully prevailed at trial with the court entering a judgment in its favor for the full amount sought.
- Represented South Korea’s foreign consulate in a successful appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Successfully argued that the District Court erred in finding, on summary judgment, that the consulate did not have sovereign immunity under the “commercial activity” exception to the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. See Nam v. Permanent Mission of The Republic of Korea to the United Nations, 118 F.4th 234 (2d Cir. 2024).

OSI Holdings I, LLC, No. A-3028-21, 2024 WL 762245, at *1 (N.J. App. Div. Feb. 26, 2024).
