Jacob represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, commercial landlords, estate fiduciaries, parties in adversary proceedings, and other parties-in-interest in various aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.

Representative Matters

Jacob’s recent representations include:

• Oil and gas companies in chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court workouts
• Co-counsel to the debtors in the chapter 11 cases of Del Monte Foods, David’s Bridal, Thrasio, and Whittaker, Clark & Daniels
• Special litigation counsel to the chapter 7 trustee in the bankruptcy case of a sports card manufacturer in prosecuting claims under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the Copyright Act
• Counsel to various customers in the FTX bankruptcy cases
• One of America’s most highly regarded retailers of home kitchenware products in its chapter 11 cases, and following confirmation, the trustee of the liquidation trust
• Numerous lenders in connection with the single asset real estate bankruptcy cases of borrowers and related litigation involving the enforcement of guarantees

Networks & Affiliations

Jacob is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, where he currently serves as Co-Chair of the Emerging Industries and Technologies Committee and previously served as Co-Chair of the Business Reorganization Committee. Prior to joining Cole Schotz, he was a restructuring and finance associate at a large international law firm and a Special Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York.
