Julie Ficks is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.

 

EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Julie served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Darren T. DiBiasi, P.J.Ch., in the New Jersey Superior Court, Bergen County, Chancery Division, supporting the General Equity, Probate, and Foreclosure dockets. In that role, she drafted judicial opinions and orders and handled all aspects of case management.

Julie previously worked as a Law Clerk at a New York–based employment law firm, where she assisted clients with workplace investigations as an independent, third party investigator, and ensured that handbooks and policies complied with applicable law. She also interned at an international pharmaceutical company, working closely with its Employment and Litigation departments.

Julie earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. She served as an Executive Acquisitions Editor of the Pace Law Review, worked as a Research Assistant, and was selected as a Dean’s Scholar in Constitutional Law and Torts.

She also holds a Master of Arts in English from the City College of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Literature from SUNY Purchase, where she received the Michael O’Loughlin Award for Excellence in Literary Studies. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Julie worked in book publishing.
