Sarah Carnes is a member in the Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Department. She advises clients on all aspects of both in- and out-of-court restructurings, reorganizations, and liquidations, with an emphasis on representing official committees of unsecured creditors appointed in complex commercial chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Sarah also advises distressed companies and chapter 11 debtors, buyers of distressed assets, DIP lenders, independent directors, liquidating trustees and plan administrators, and individual creditors.
Sarah has represented official committees of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 cases throughout the country, including J. C. Penney, Regus, Francesca’s, Alex and Ani, Stage Stores, Fusion Connect, Claire’s Stores, American Apparel, Republic Metals, Eastern Outfitters, the Rockport Group, Golfsmith, zGallerie, J&M Sales, Charming Charlie, Advanced Sports Enterprises, Aerosoles, and Marsh Supermarkets.
