Cole Schotz P.C. represented Matrix New World (Matrix), a leading provider of environmental consulting, engineering and infrastructure solutions, in a partnership with True Environmental (True), a platform that partners with founder and employee-owned consulting and engineering firms to help provide capital solutions to accelerate growth and liquidity events for ownership transition.

Cole Schotz represented Matrix on its complicated reorganization and disposition to True. The partnership was announced on May 15, 2023.

“It’s an immense privilege to work with entrepreneurs and witness their hard work pay off,” said Cole Schotz member James Kim. “Matrix’s leadership team is comprised of impressive businesspeople who are leaders in their field, and they deserve all the success they have achieved.”

Founded in 1990 and headquartered in New Jersey, Matrix provides regulatory permitting, ecology / natural resource studies, coastal resiliency planning, geotechnical engineering, surveying, and other civil engineering services to customers across a variety of end markets. The partnership with True, backed by Halle Capital, will help establish a foundation on which to build a leading environmental, engineering and infrastructure consulting firm.

“We have long had the pleasure of working with the exceptional team at Cole Schotz,” said Jayne Warne, founder and president of Matrix New World. “It is clear they share our own commitment to client service and finding innovative solutions for helping clients accomplish their business goals.”

The Cole Schotz team was led by member James Kim and included members Jeffrey Cash, James Stefanick, and Alan Rubin, special counsel Tara Ryan and associates Toni Galo, Luke Alba and Zulfia Corrigan.
