Cole Schotz Triples Miami Footprint With New Office
Just over a year after launching in Miami, Cole Schotz PC said Monday that it has opened a new, 6,100-square-foot office that will nearly triple the firm’s capacity in the city.
The new office is located in the Brickell City Tower at 80 S.W. 8th St., Suite 1900, and it has 14 private offices along with three state-of-the-art conference rooms, Cole Schotz said.
Luis Salazar, who launched the firm’s Miami presence a year ago, told Law360 Pulse in a Monday email that the most obvious difference between the two offices is the size, but the location of the new office was just as important to the firm.
“We wanted to be in the heart of Brickell because it’s become the epicenter of Miami’s booming economy. It’s where businesses are being built, where investment is flowing, where deals are getting done, and where so many of our clients and professional partners are located,” Salazar said. “For a law firm, being in that environment matters. We wanted an office that’s easy for clients to reach, that’s surrounded by other leading professional services firms, and that’s in the middle of the business community we’re serving every day.”
Salazar returned to Cole Schotz in June 2025 to spearhead the firm’s launch in Miami. Salazar and Jose Ceide, along with associate Lorenzo Lorenzo Jr., joined Cole Schotz from Salazar Law LLP.
Salazar told Law360 Pulse that they launched the Miami office with four attorneys and a clear vision of what they wanted to build. Since then, he said, they’ve continued to add talented lawyers across several practice areas, and their growth has reinforced their belief that Miami is the right place for Cole Schotz to make a long-term investment.
“We’re fortunate to have attracted outstanding lawyers in litigation, corporate transactions, tax, trusts and estates, and real estate, and we expect that growth to continue,” Salazar said. “More broadly, we want to build an office that’s known for sophisticated legal work, exceptional client service, and a culture that attracts talented lawyers who want to build their careers in Miami. We’re building for the long term, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.”
According to the firm, the Miami team now includes four members, one special counsel, two associates, and three staff members.
Earlier this month, Cole Schotz added member Jennifer Llano from Holland & Knight LLP. In her practice, Llano handles mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and entertainment and talent matters.
In June, the firm welcomed special counsel Megan D. Ferris from Day Pitney LLP. Ferris is a member of the firm’s tax, trusts and estates department.
Salazar said Miami has become one of the country’s most dynamic business markets, and there’s an optimism and entrepreneurial spirit that you can feel.
“As people say in Miami, pa’lante! There’s always another opportunity around the corner,” Salazar said. “That’s the kind of energy that attracted us to this market, and it’s the kind of energy we think defines Cole Schotz as well. We’re proud to be part of that growth, and even more excited about the opportunity to help shape what’s next. I truly believe we’re just getting started.”
Cole Schotz is home to more than 200 attorneys in offices in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Texas, Florida and Washington, D.C.
