Cole Schotz Adds Fla. Tax Atty From Shapiro Blasi
Cole Schotz PC has expanded its tax, trusts and estates, and corporate transactions departments in Boca Raton, Florida, with a new member from Shapiro Blasi Wasserman & Hermann PA.
Joseph M. Landolfi Jr. joined his new firm with more than two decades of experience practicing law in South Florida, Cole Schotz announced Wednesday.
“Joe brings a deep and nuanced understanding of a broad array of asset protection and estate planning strategies,” Samuel Weiner, co-managing shareholder, said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome Joe to the firm and are excited to work together on behalf of our clients.”
In his practice, Landolfi advises on estate and wealth preservation planning, asset protection planning, corporate and transaction matters, elder law, and special needs planning, the firm said. He has particular experience implementing strategies to protect personal wealth and business assets from creditors and to mitigate the impact of income, estate and gift taxes.
In his corporate transactions practice, Landolfi counsels individuals and businesses on tax effects and issues that may arise during transactions. He helps them with choice of entity issues, contract negotiation and drafting, partnership and joint venture structuring, shareholders’ agreements, financing, purchases and sales of businesses, business succession planning, and deferred compensation arrangements.
“We are excited to bring Joe’s expertise across a wide range of corporate advisory and transactional matters to the firm,” Jennifer L. Horowitz, chair of the corporate transactions department, said in a statement. “His experience will be beneficial for our clients, particularly as we continue to grow our Florida offices.”
Outside his practice, Landolfi serves as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, St. Thomas University School of Law, where he teaches a course in estate planning.
Landolfi holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Villanova University, as well as a master’s in taxation from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He also earned a master of laws in taxation from Boston University School of Law.
