Justin S. Mei is an associate in the firm’s Real Estate Department.
His practice focuses on traditional and non-traditional financing for commercial real estate transactions. Justin represents lenders, private equity funds, owners, and investors. He has worked on complex transactions involving crowd-funding investing platforms and real estate opportunity funds investing in large real estate development projects.
While in law school, Justin interned for the Hon. Marc R. Kellams of the Monroe County Circuit Court, acted as the Assistant Student Director for Maurer’s Protective Order Project – a student run pro bono organization, and received the Greene-Bealer Fellowship.
His representative matters include:
- Representation of a Private Equity Fund on raising $10,000,000 through private placement and on the origination of a subsequent mezzanine loan secured by an equity pledge in the development company constructing a condominium in Manhattan, New York.
- Representation of a Private Equity Fund on the origination of a $9,000,000 refinance loan secured by a first mortgage lien on a mixed-use development in Brooklyn, New York.
- Representation of a Private Developer on a $5,000,000 SBA-backed construction loan to build a hotel in Queens, New York.
- Ongoing representation of a group of Investors on the origination of over $20,000,000 in private bridge loans secured by residential investment properties in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
