Probate, Trusts & Estate Litigation
Jaime serves as a trusted advisor to individuals during challenging family situations. Practicing law for well over twenty-years, Jaime has devoted her career to representing high-net-worth individuals and families in trust and estate matters, including probate and trust litigation, guardianship litigation and other fiduciary disputes. Jaime is experienced in handling these matters for her clients which are often emotionally charged and involve difficult family dynamics that distinct in cases involving testamentary capacity issues, undue influence and breach of fiduciary duties.
FAMILY LAW
Clients benefit from Jaime’s detailed skillset and the perspective, knowledge and experience she has cultivated in marital and family law disputes. Jaime guides high-net-worth individuals through delicate matters including intricately detailed prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, divorce and other sensitive marital and family law related matters. Jaime’s family law practice centers on highly personal legal matters that often involve complex asset issues, unique executive compensation structures and business and income valuations. Jaime is experienced in navigating these highly sensitive and personal issues for her clients whether through negotiation, mediation or litigation.
Jaime’s extensive experience in litigating probate and trust matters makes her distinctly qualified in drafting and negotiating all types of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements because she possesses the requisite background to advocate and protect her clients in the event of a divorce, as well as, protecting a client if their marriage ends by reason of death. Death provisions in a prenuptial or postnuptial agreement are often overlooked and not properly tailored to meet the needs of a high-net-worth individual by most attorneys that solely practice family law, and divorce provisions often do not meet a client’s needs when handled by attorneys that practice solely in the area of estate planning. Jaime’s unique experience allows her to meet the needs of her clients, whether the situation arises in the event of divorce or death.
General Commercial Litigation
When disputes threaten the business operations of her clients, Jaime’s practice can expand to include commercial litigation that impacts her clients. Additionally, Jaime works with in-house counsel at large corporations and financial institutions as outside counsel handling large, complex commercial litigation matters. She represents clients in all aspects of litigation, from discovery and pretrial motions to trials and appeals.
Education
Jaime received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, and a B.A. in Legal Studies from University of Central Florida.
