Congratulations to our client, Roche Bobois on its recent victory against Italian Luxury Interiors (ILI) – an unauthorized distributor of Roche Bobois products.
In early 2024, we filed suit on behalf of Roche Bobois against ILI in federal court in New Jersey, for trademark infringement, alleging that the manner in which ILI sells and markets Roche Bobois’ products infringes upon the Roche Bobois trademark. ILI moved to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction or to transfer the action to federal court in Georgia, where it is based; however, we successfully defeated the motion by demonstrating ILI’s numerous connections to New Jersey, including shipments of the infringing products within the State and representations on its website that it had an office in Blackwood, NJ. The Cole Schotz team was led by Rachel Mongiello, Willie Stroever, and Pekham Pal.
