Cole Schotz PC and Kirkland & Ellis LLP are advising Eddie Bauer LLC as the outdoor apparel retailer navigates Chapter 11 proceedings in New Jersey.

Eddie Bauer, which operates approximately 175 stores across the U.S. and Canada, plans to pursue sales of its stores while exploring the possibility of a going-concern transaction. The company entered Chapter 11 with approximately $1.74 billion in funded debt.

The Cole Schotz team includes Michael D. Sirota, Warren A. Usatine and Felice R. Yudkin, all of whom have extensive experience advising companies through significant bankruptcy and restructuring matters.

Sirota, co-chair of Cole Schotz’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department, has advised clients including WeWork, Bed Bath & Beyond and Pretium Packaging in Chapter 11 proceedings. Usatine, a co-managing shareholder and co-chair of the Litigation Department, has worked on restructurings involving Rite Aid, BlockFi and WeWork. Yudkin has advised clients including David’s Bridal, BlockFi and WeWork and is also part of the team advising Pretium Packaging in its Chapter 11 case.

Eddie Bauer’s e-commerce and wholesale operations are continuing outside of the bankruptcy proceedings.
