Cole Schotz PC announced Monday that it has hired a Day Pitney LLP attorney to bolster its capacity to advise high-net-worth individuals and other clients on tax, trust and estate matters.

Megan D. Ferris has joined Cole Schotz as a special counsel in its Miami office and is a member of the tax, trusts and estates department, the national firm said.

“I am thrilled to be joining Cole Schotz and be a part of the firm’s growing presence in Miami,” Ferris said in a statement Monday. “I look forward to working with the firm’s talented Tax, Trusts & Estates attorneys and collaborating on matters with my colleagues across several departments to best serve clients.”

In an emailed statement to Law360 Pulse, she said she was drawn to Cole Schotz by “its collaborative culture, sophisticated attorneys and comprehensive platform.”

“Joining the Miami office gives me an exciting opportunity to grow my practice and bring my tax expertise to the firm’s growing list of clients in Miami, further strengthening the firm’s presence in South Florida’s dynamic tax and business communities,” Ferris said.

She added that she looks forward to working closely with her new colleagues across Cole Schotz practice groups to best serve her clients and will draw on her relationships in the Miami area to further cement the firm’s presence in the region.
