A Century of Excellence: Cole Schotz Begins Year-Long Anniversary Party
Throughout its history, Cole Schotz has been steadfastly focused on innovation, collaboration and long-term relationships – and consistently invested in talent, technology and strategic growth.
The business model clearly is working.
This year, the Hackensack-based firm is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
The full-service firm, founded in 1926 by David Cole and Mendon Morrill, has advised generations of businesses, institutions, and individuals, navigating legal challenges across industries while adapting to the evolving legal landscape.
And it has grown from a small, two-man practice into a nationally recognized firm with more than 200 attorneys and offices in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Texas, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Florida.
Warren Usatine, a co-managing shareholder and co-chair of the Litigation Department, said the firm is proud of its foundation of excellence.
“For 100 years, our firm has been built on the trust of our clients and the dedication of our people,” he said. “This milestone reflects not only our history, but our unwavering commitment to providing thoughtful, practical, and results-driven counsel in an increasingly complex world.”
Cole Schotz attorneys are recognized leaders in areas including bankruptcy, corporate, environmental, employment, intellectual property, litigation, real estate and tax, trusts and estates.
Randi Kochman, a co-managing shareholder and chair of the Employment Law Department, said the firm’s camaraderie stands out.
“Our success over the last century is rooted in a culture that values integrity, teamwork, and service,” she said. “As we celebrate this anniversary, we are equally focused on the future — continuing to evolve, embracing new challenges, and supporting our clients and communities for generations to come.”
In honor of its centennial, Cole Schotz will host a series of events and initiatives throughout the year, including community service projects, firm celebrations and publications highlighting the firm’s history, while reinforcing its commitment to the future.
