2 Firms Guide $238M Times Square Office Buy
Private equity real estate firm Sentry Realty paid more than $238 million to buy a Times Square commercial office building from L.H. Charney Associates Inc. in a deal guided by Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson LLP and Cole Schotz PC, according to documents filed with New York City’s Department of Finance.
The documents filed Monday show that Sentry’s entity, 1441 Broadway Property LLC, bought the 1441 Broadway property from L.H. Charney’s entity Lechar 1441 LLC.
According to L.H. Charney’s official website, the 1441 Broadway building, which is also known as 10 Times Square, is 34 stories tall and takes up 575,000 square feet. The property has an almost 46,000 square foot retail area and there are notable tenants such as Champs and Foot Locker.
Sentry and L.H. Charney didn’t respond to requests for comment Tuesday.
Cole Schotz’s exact role in the sale is unclear.
Sentry’s counsel information wasn’t immediately available.
