Cole Schotz Strengthens Intellectual Property Practice With Addition of Christopher Evans

Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce that Christopher Evans has joined the firm’s Texas office as a member in the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. Mr. Evans focuses his practice on complex patent infringement cases against large corporations, including Microsoft, Samsung and Amazon, in Federal District Court, appeals to the Federal Circuit and administrative proceedings in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

“Christopher’s diverse background and experience taking on the world’s leading tech companies will be a tremendous addition to our superb intellectual property group,” said Gary Sorden, Co-chair of the Intellectual Property department at Cole Schotz who serves as lead counsel on intellectual property matters related to patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark and trade dress issues. “We are excited to utilize his outstanding skills as a stand-up litigator and hands-on technical capabilities to enhance our team and recognized trial practice.”

Mr. Evans also represents universities and research and development centers in their patent licensing and patent litigation efforts. In addition to over a decade of experience as an intellectual property attorney, he has experience in bankruptcy, contract disputes and securities law and worked as an industrial engineer before starting his legal career.

Mr. Evans joins the firm from Chris Evans Firm LLP, which he founded in 2019. He was previously a partner at Shore Chan DePumpo LLP. Mr. Evans received his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and his B.S. in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
