Melanie M. Plinio is an associate in the Tax, Trusts & Estates Department and is based in the firm’s New Jersey office.

Experience

Melanie joined Cole Schotz in 2019 and was a summer associate with the firm in 2018.

Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Melanie worked as a contract administrator for Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Novartis company, a law clerk for two national law firms, a summer fellow for the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Bureau of Securities, a research assistant for two Seton Hall Law professors, and a paralegal for New Jersey Natural Gas.

Melanie earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Finance from Muhlenberg College, and her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and the Public Interest Law Fellowship. During law school, Melanie was elected to join the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board and served as Comments Editor for the Seton Hall Law Review. As a law student, Melanie was published in the Seton Hall Law Review, the National Law Review and the New York State Bar Association’s Business Law Section, where she was awarded First Place in the 2018 Student Writing Competition.
