As a member of the firm’s Tax, Trusts & Estates Department, Tishya M. Signorelli focuses her practice on sophisticated estate and trust administration, estate planning, guardianship issues and tax planning.

Experience

Tishya has extensive experience administering unusually complex estates, working with estates ranging from the relatively small to those of more than $100 million in value. She has administered hundreds of estates that have involved such tasks as obtaining court interpretation of instrument provisions; accounting for specifically devised real property, securities and business interests; calculating estate tax and facilitating IRS audits, where necessary; apportioning estate tax among beneficiaries; and resolving conflicts among and between beneficiaries and fiduciaries.

Tishya also has vast experience in all areas of estate and trust administration, including probates, summary probate procedures, other probate court proceedings relating to estates and trusts, property allocation agreements, fiduciary and beneficiary representation, accountings, qualified disclaimers, generation-skipping transfer tax, guardianships issues, insolvent estates, preparation and review of estate and gift tax returns and audit representation.

Tishya has lectured and been published in the areas of estates and trusts and estate planning and is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association, New York Bar Association, New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and Women Lawyers in Bergen County. She is also on the board of directors of KEEN New York, a volunteer-run, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free one-on-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities.

Education

Tishya earned her B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University and her J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation from New York Law School.
