Daniel J. Harris is a Member in the Bankruptcy Group at Cole Schotz. Dan focuses his practice on corporate bankruptcy, creditors’ rights and distressed situations.

 

EXPERIENCE

Dan regularly represents debtors, creditors’ committees, noteholders, trade creditors, strategic investors and other parties in interest in all aspects of chapter 11 cases. He has represented public and private companies in chapter 11 cases in a variety of industries, including healthcare, real estate, manufacturing, technology, media, energy and others. He also represents liquidating trustees and other stakeholders in connection with claims reconciliation processes and the pursuit of strategic litigation.

Beyond his restructuring practice, Dan represents investors and strategic parties in connection with general business matters, entrepreneurial endeavors, claims trading and investment transactions. Additionally, Dan offers unique experience counseling companies through the wind down and liquidation process in various European jurisdictions following a chapter 11 filing. This niche area of focus allows Dan to serve as a trusted counsel to companies and liquidating entities in chapter 11 with European-based subsidiaries.
