New Delaware Chapter 11 Filing – Montesquieu, Inc. et al.

Montesquieu, Inc., along with two affiliates and subsidiaries, has filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Lead Case No. 19-10599).  According to the First Day Declaration, the Debtors comprise a “unique direct to consumer wine business” that produces, bottles and sells win under its own brand, as well as licensing and distributing boutique wines from thousands of lesser known wineries.  The First Day Declaration further explains that the Debtors have filed as a result of an unsuccessful attempt to expand their operations into “wine cruises” for high net-worth clients.  A list of the Debtors’ twenty largest unsecured creditors can be found here.  Stretto is the proposed claims and noticing agent.  The cases have been assigned to the Honorable Brendan Linehan Shannon.
