New Chapter 11 Filing – Chaparral Energy Inc.
On August 16, 2020, Chaparral Energy Inc., an Oklahoma City-based independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company, and several affiliates filed a petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (Case No. 20-11947). The Company reported total assets of $595.2 million and total liabilities of $522.3 million. On August 15, the company announced it entered into a restructuring support agreement with 78% of its revolver lenders and 78% of the senior noteholders, commencing solicitation of a prepackaged plan on the same date.
