Cole Schotz Welcomes Veteran IP Lawyer as New Member in Dallas
Cole Schotz P.C. is pleased to announce the addition of veteran intellectual property lawyer Vishal Patel as a member in the firm’s Dallas office. Mr. Patel joins from Thompson & Knight LLP.
“Vishal adds significant experience to our Dallas office and our growing national Intellectual Property Department,” said Gary Sorden, member in the firm’s Dallas office. “He has worked across a wide range of industries and his experience as an accomplished lawyer will enhance the services we offer to our clients locally and nationally.”
Mr. Patel advises clients on intellectual property disputes and technology transactions in industries including semiconductor design and manufacturing, biotechnology and medical devices, telecommunications, cloud software, investment and banking, aviation, retail and hospitality. He regularly represents clients in patent disputes and trade secret litigation in state and federal courts and before the International Trade Commission.

Prior to entering the field of law, Mr. Patel was an engineer who focused on orthopedic technologies and prosthesis. As a lawyer, he draws on this experience to counsel clients with their most complex IP and technology challenges.
Mr. Patel is a graduate from the University of Houston Law Center and received a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from St. Louis University.
