Ninety-year-old law firm Cole Schotz P.C. announced on Tuesday that it has elevated two associates in its Hackensack-based office to members, effective Jan. 1.Ninety-year-old law firm Cole Schotz P.C. announced on Tuesday that it has elevated two associates in its Hackensack-based office to members, effective Jan. 1.

One attorney, Robert DiPisa, is now a member of Cole Schotz’s real estate department, where he counsels developers, real estate equity and opportunity funds, real estate investment trusts, investors, owners and tenants in regard to commercial real estate transactions. The other, David Gold, is a member of the firm’s intellectual property, litigation, and restaurant and hospitality arms. Gold focuses on counseling creative entrepreneurs including musicians, authors, artists, and designers, as well as arts and media organizations.

“There’s a different element now [as a member] where I will not only be working with my clients and generating business for the firm, but acting as a mentor for the younger associates,” said DiPisa, who started as an associate at Cole Schotz in July 2014. He described the new position as more of a mentorship role than a management role.
