Associate Matthew Kipnis leverages his business acumen when representing clients on a range of corporate transactions.

EXPERIENCE

Matt advises clients across the spectrum of corporate law with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and corporate governance. Matt leverages his understanding of the considerations underlying decision-making on the business side to better navigate legal challenges necessary to consummate transactions and achieve closing conditions favorable to all parties involved.

Education

Matt earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and earned both his M.B.A as well as his B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Binghamton University. While at St. John’s, Matt sought out opportunities to gain hands-on experience. His accomplishments include:

• Executive Notes and Comments Editor of the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review
• 2021 Hon. Guy J. Mangano ADR Fellowship Recipient
• Student intern for the St. John’s Securities Arbitration Clinic where he was the recipient of the St. Vincent DePaul Award
• Extern with FINRA’s Dispute Resolution Department
• Published in the Public Investor Advocate Bar Association’s Bar Journal

Passions

Matt enjoys supporting his favorite New York sports teams including the Yankees, Giants, Rangers and Knicks.
