This course will discuss the basics of blockchain and distributed ledger technology, Bitcoin, Ethereumand other Cryptocurrencies. This course will also discuss the tension between permissioned and permission-less systems, the roles of tokens and cryptocurrencies in decentralized networks, and various applications of blockchain technology. Finally, this course will discuss legal and regulatory matters, with respect to initial coin offerings, regulatory authority, and the classification of tokens as securities.
