Michael Trentin is an Associate in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Group. He has represented chapter 11 debtors, creditors’ committees and other secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy cases across the country. Notable recent debtor representations include: True Religion Apparel; SC SJ Holdings LLC a/k/a San Jose Fairmont Hotel; Sur La Table; and Hygea Holdings in their chapter 11 cases. In addition, Michael represented the official committee of unsecured creditors of Alex and Ani, Francesca’s, L’Occitane, Town Sports International, and American Addiction Centers.
Michael was recognized as a “2021 Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers in the area of bankruptcy law. No aspect of this advertisement has been approved by the Supreme Court of New Jersey. See Award Methodology.
Before joining the firm, Michael served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Rosemary Gambardella in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Michael has considerable civil litigation experience, having represented clients in both the federal and state courts. Prior to his bankruptcy court clerkship, he served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Gary J. Furnari in the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Law Division.
Michael received his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2015, where he served as Digital Executive Editor of the Seton Hall Circuit Review. At Seton Hall, he was the recipient of the Honorable Raymond T. Lyons Bankruptcy Award and Heyman Fellowship Award. He graduated from Rutgers University in 2012.
