Experience
Leo is a dedicated litigator with extensive experience in managing a broad range of civil litigations at both state and federal levels. His expertise spans all stages of commercial litigation, from initial investigations and pre-litigation counsel through to discovery, trial, and beyond. Leo has adeptly represented clients in mediations, arbitrations, appeals, criminal matters, and multidistrict litigations. Leo focuses on resolving disputes efficiently and effectively, employing innovative conflict resolution strategies and always focusing on achieving the most favorable outcome for his clients.
Representative Matters
- Resolved dispute over purchase and procurement of highly desirable commercial real estate property for client as part of settlement with owner of property.
- Achieved dismissal of 12 claims against individual defendant by pre-discovery motion to dismiss in high-stakes construction dispute, significantly reducing client liability, and leading to favorable settlement.
- Represented client in contentious partnership dispute, including claims for breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, and conversion of corporate assets, on behalf of individual client and derivatively on behalf of company.
- Represented New Jersey shopping center client against national fast-food tenant in action concerning payment obligations under lease.
- Routinely achieved favorable settlements in mortgage foreclosure actions for national banking client, safeguarding client’s financial interests and maintaining long-term client relationship.
Education
Prior to joining the firm in 2018, as a summer associate, Leo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from Rutgers University and his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. During law school, Leo was elected to be the Executive Editor of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition Honor Society, through which he participated and, subsequently, coached a team at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. Leo also completed a full-semester clinical program at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in its Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau.
