Rachel A. Mongiello is a member in the Litigation Department. Her practice and experience includes commercial litigation, antitrust, and white collar criminal defense. Rachel’s practice focuses on investigating, litigating, and defending claims of fraud and collusion on both the domestic and international scale. Her experience includes assisting with government investigations into potential antitrust violations of a client’s competitor, evaluating and defending against civil and criminal fraud and antitrust claims in the pharmaceutical and financial sectors, and pursuing, and defending against, derivative claims of minority shareholders. Rachel’s practice has been recognized most recently in her selection as a “Rising Star” by New Jersey Super Lawyers. Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Rachel practiced as a litigation associate with two firms in the greater New York City area. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the Honorable Mary L. Cooper of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Barry T. Albin of the Supreme Court of New Jersey.
Rachel graduated magna cum laude from Providence College and received her J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Seton Hall University School of Law. During law school, Rachel served on the Seton Hall Law Review as an Articles Editor and on the Moot Court Board. She won both the 2008 Ronald J. Riccio First-Year Moot Court Competition and the 2010 National Juvenile Moot Court Competition. At this competition, she was also awarded for Best Brief and was recognized as the Third Best Oralist. Rachel also participated in Seton Hall's Constitutional Law Clinic, where she assisted clients in raising claims for constitutional violations against government entities. Rachel is currently a member of Seton Hall's Alumni Council and has been appointed to the Supreme Court of New Jersey District VI Ethics Committee.
