Jacob Frumkin is a member in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department. He represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, commercial landlords, estate fiduciaries, parties in adversary proceedings, and other parties-in-interest in various aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.

Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Jacob was a restructuring and finance associate at a large international law firm and a Special Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York.
Jacob is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and currently serves as the Communications Manager of its Business Reorganization Committee. He was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 2021 and 2022 editions of Best Lawyers in America in the area of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law. Jacob graduated from Brooklyn Law School, where he was a Notes and Comments Editor of the Journal of Law and Policy. During law school, Jacob was a Lloyd F. MacMahon Fellow at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and a judicial intern for the Honorable Henry Pitman, Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of New York.
