Henry Matri is co-chair of the Corporate & Business Transactions Department. His practice emphasizes commercial transactions, the purchase and sale of business and professional practices, stock transactions, mergers, corporate agreements, business succession planning, estate planning and estate administration.
Mr. Matri served as a captain in the United States Army from 1967 to 1971. Upon graduation from law school, he was an estate tax attorney with the Internal Revenue Service from 1973-1977. He joined Cole Schotz in 1977 and became a member of the firm in 1981.
Mr. Matri has served as an Adjunct Professor at The American College of CLUs. He has taught courses in business tax planning, wealth accumulation, advanced estate planning, and planning for business owners and professionals.
He is an accredited estate planner, as designated by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.
Noteworthy
Mr. Matri has been awarded an AV rating for his professionalism and the quality of his legal work from Martindale-Hubbell, the premier directory of legal professionals. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the prestigious Best Lawyers in America® and New York Area's Best Lawyers in Corporate Law, 2007-2012. He was also selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers® in Business/Corporate Law, 2007-2012. Mr. Matri has been designated as an Accredited Estate Planner by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils.
