G. David Dean is a Member of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department in the Baltimore office. He focuses his practice on corporate reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings, and complex business litigation in bankruptcy, state and U.S. district courts. In bankruptcy proceedings, Mr. Dean has served as counsel to debtors, a foreign representative, official committees of unsecured creditors and equity holders, individual creditors (including landlords and trade creditors), purchasers of assets in bankruptcy, and bankruptcy trustees. He has significant experience in debtor-side restructuring in Chapter 11 cases.
Outside of bankruptcy, Mr. Dean has often represented businesses and individuals in out-of-court restructurings. He has been successful on numerous occasions in stabilizing his clients’ relationships with lenders and trade creditors to avoid bankruptcy and litigation altogether. Mr. Dean also has acted as counsel to borrowers and creditors in state and federal court litigation arising out of failed businesses and loans.
Mr. Dean has spoken on various aspects of bankruptcy and published articles on a variety of bankruptcy topics.
