Michael Weinstein, a former trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C., is chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense & Investigations practice group.  He has successfully litigated numerous federal and state jury trials on a broad range of civil, criminal and quasi-criminal matters.  His practice focuses on complex and sophisticated business litigation, internal corporate investigations and defense of government criminal and quasi-criminal allegations. 

He has extensive experience in all facets of trial and has litigated in federal, state, regulatory, administrative and International forums.  He has served as lead trial counsel responsible for conceiving and implementing litigation strategies on behalf of corporate and individual clients. 

He represents a broad range of companies and individual executives in disputes in a wide range of business sectors.  Recently, his representative matters have included allegations of fraud and bad faith, bank/wire fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate malfeasance, violation of restrictive covenants, trademark and copyright infringement and insurance coverage dispute.  He also represents closely held companies, executives and individuals who must defend against criminal and quasi-criminal allegations initiated by government, shareholders, or plaintiffs.

Michael was the only U.S. Department of Justice attorney ever to be awarded the prestigious Pegasus Trust Fellowship in London, England.

Michael has also been included in 201 Magazine's list of Top Lawyers in Bergen County for 2011.  He often provides legal commentary in various media formats including TV, radio and print publications on a wide range of criminal defense topics.
