Peter Herrigel's practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation, business and contract disputes, employment litigation involving wrongful termination, negotiating employment separation agreements, construction litigation, commercial collections, consumer fraud litigation and shareholder disputes. He has been involved in matters in the state and federal courts in New Jersey at the trial level and in appellate courts in New Jersey, as well as in the state and federal courts in New York (appearing pro hac vice).
Mr. Herrigel has participated in trials in both the Chancery and Law Divisions in the New Jersey Superior Courts, including a matter involving a multi-million dollar shareholder dispute that ultimately resulted in a precedent-setting decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court. In addition, one of his trials included a jury trial on a breach of contract and consumer fraud matter resulting in a substantial judgment in favor of his client, a Northern New Jersey medical laboratory, which was affirmed on appeal in a reported decision.
Mr. Herrigel was formerly a partner in Sternlieb & Dowd, L.L.C., which merged its practice with Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard, P.A. in 2005.

Mr. Herrigel has been awarded an AV rating for his professionalism and the quality of his legal work from Martindale-Hubbell, the premier directory of legal professionals.
