About Cole Schotz |
STARS is a Cole Schotz initiative designed to promote the development and success of the Firm’s women attorneys. STARS reflects the Firm’s commitment to helping its women lawyers achieve professional success and leadership roles in the Firm, their practice and their communities. To achieve these goals, STARS focuses on and provides a forum for the discussion of issues that are pertinent to women lawyers such as skills training, networking and business development, work-life balance, recruitment and retention, mentoring, annual social events and community outreach. The Initiative’s programs include panel presentations, casual roundtable discussions, informal mentoring, and networking opportunities with clients and other female professionals.

Spring 2013 – “Desk to Dinner”
STARS held its Spring event at Saks Fifth Avenue which focused on creating a professional yet trendy impression to go from "Desk to Dinner."

October 2012 - Cooking by the Book
STARS hosted an external networking event at Cooking by the Book in New York City.
April 2012 - Communication in Today's Business World
Jean Hanham, a coach with The Wall Street Coach and Tierney Coaching & Consulting, spoke to the group about effective communication in the workplace.
October 2011 - Cider Fest
STARS hosted a Cider Fest at the Firm’s New York Office. The external networking event included a hard cider tasting and Tarot card reader.
Spring 2011 – “Self Advocacy”
STARS held a two-part program on Self Advocacy. Part One took place at Saks Fifth Avenue and focused on creating a powerful professional impression and image through one's attire. STARS also used this event to raise donations for the charity "Dress for Success." Part Two of the series was an informal lunch discussion on how to promote oneself internally and out of the office.
October 2010 - Dylan's Candy Bar Networking Event
STARS hosted an external networking event at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City. A portion of the sale proceeds was donated to Food Bank of New York.
May 2010 – “Marketing for Busy Professionals and Beyond”
STARS held a panel discussion on strategies for successful marketing.
February 2010 – “Creating Your Career Development and Success Plan”
STARS hosted a distinguished panel on career development for women attorneys.
November 2009 - "Balancing it All"
STARS launched its first event with a roundtable discussion on tips and techniques for achieving a desirable work/life balance.
